Poway High School
Over the last 15 years Spooner’s Woodworks has donated hundreds of hours to special projects at Poway High School. Spooner’s has been an integral part of numerous Grad-Night and Titan Times events and the main sponsor for the Homecoming production for 10 years and counting. Working closely with the members of the Associated Student Body, Spooner’s has donated the material, engineering and machining required to make dozens of themed cut-outs. We also provide students with a place to paint and assemble the props as well as delivery of the finished product to the school.
Whispering Winds Christian Family Camp
Over the past 20 years, Spooner’s Woodworks has donated labor and product for numerous projects at Whispering Winds Catholic Camp in Julian, CA. The camp serves Southern California and provides a Christ-centered environment, apart from the everyday world, where all are welcome to increase their knowledge of and commitment to Christ, and join as fellow pilgrims on their journey of faith with God. Habitat for Humanity Libby Lake
Spooner's supports Habitat for Humanity and recently participated in the largest development that San Diego Habitat for Humanity has ever undertaken, Libby Lake Village. Working within in a five-day project schedule, we provided kitchen and bathroom casework for new affordable homes and helped make the dream of homeownership a reality for two deserving families.
St. Michaels Church Eagle Scout Project
Spooner’s recently assisted a candidate for Scouting’s highest honor with his final community project by providing all of the engineering and machining for shelving units that he built for his church.
Additional community service projects include:
- Casework donation to San Diego Home for Abused Mothers
- Mentor program for local high school students interested in a career in the millwork field
- Multiple Equipment donations and consulting assistance for PHS wood shop
